The Morning Star Choir from Los Angeles has performed at a variety of venues, such as the House of Blues, Manhattan Beach Jazz Festival, and the Great Western Forum. During the Papal visit to Los Angeles, the Morning Star Choir performed an important musical auxiliary role during the celebration. Singing for the Sunday morning liturgy at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church for the past four decades this inspirational group has generated a faithful following.

This 40-member choir has been under the directorship of John and Joan Allen the past 13 years. The Choir’s musical repertoire encompasses assorted genres of choral music. Recently, the Morning Star Choir has generated an enormous amount of excitement and enthusiasm in anticipation of their Summer 2003 compact disc release on Expectancy Records entitled, “Thank You Lord.” This Morning Star Choir project, produced by John Allen, contains a selection of melodious spirit-filled songs composed by members of the organization.
